Today when I went into Vtec land, I heard the car "whistle" when it past 8000rpm up to redline. Is that the air intake or something? Does anyone else's car do that? The whistle only comes out after 8000rpm...... Thanks in advance!

Mine whistles sometimes.

At first I was thinking "VTEC whinning" is what happens when someone posts about not enough torque.

 

I don't think you can hear an intake whistle when the engine is screaming at 8K, especially with the stock box which is pretty much silent even at idle.

I would think what you're hearing is more of a ringing and, yes, it is normal.

When I was running the stock airbox, you could definitely hear a pronouced whistle when in VTEC. The sound was even picked up in one of my videos. Its just a characteristic of the car.
