Twin disk clutch options for 600h.p.+
the competition clutch is something like $1,400.00 or $1,500.00. cant remember exactly what they said. i guess no one has it yet, maybe those who do have it are too busy enjoying driving with it. i wonder if Spec as a twin disk for our cars. im extremely happy with my stage 3 Spec clutch and flyweel combo in my 240sx.
how much is that Carbonetic triple carbon clutch? and how streetable is it?(engagement and pedal effort?) i mean its not my daily driver but will my left leg be double the size of my right leg after driving for a while? is it a workout? and is the engagement sort of progressive or is it like on and off like a light switch?
I have the twin disc, I haven't installed it yet so I can't tell you how streetable it is.
I did call and talk with the guy from Carbonetic he said it was very much like stock
accept for the engagement point. The Carbonetic will engage much sooner he said
that the twin disc I had was rated for 600tq I asked him twice because I didn't believe
him the first time.
He did stress the importance of proper break in which is 800-1000 miles. He also said
to make sure to properly warm up the clutch before hard launches.

I've been running a Carbonetic triple-plate for only the reason I got a great deal cause my friend works there. But I will tell you for High HP you won't be dissapointed, it is cruel on the leg, but if you've been driving hard clutches like me for years you'll be more than happy because you know that your capturing more HP transition and the wear factor on Carbonetics Clutches are minimal if you properly break in the clutch from the get-go..
On a another note, I actually prefer Exedy's Full carbon due to my driving style.. The engagement on the Carbonetic is low, so it takes a awhile getting use to.. But you'll love the feeling of instant GRAB and go when you have one..
The price may be steep for most people when you step into Carbon Clutches, but if you do the math you are obtaining better performance not just for minutes but for some track freaks like me and many here can attest for hours!!!!
Then again it's really based on preference and purpose.. I know a couple of guys using simple street discs by ACT or Competition Clutch that really just use there S2000 for spirited driving...
I strongly recommend driving someone's S2000 that has a Carbonetic, OS Giken, or Exedy and go from there...

Thanks guys...basically this clutch is going to be holding up my build beginning this weekend since my shortblock is going to be done and the head is going on as well. summer is almost here and i still dont have a clutch and my rear still needs to be sent out and re-done(puddymod probably). wish someone with the Competition Clutch twin disk would give us some feedback.
