Default Twisties with FI

I am looking into FI with a goal of 400hp on 93 octane and maybe a high boost on race gas. What I am wondering is how this will effect my ability to hit the twisties.

Currently I live near a couple perfect roads each about 30 miles one way and I will go out say 2-3 time a month if not more and do about 120 miles on them in one sitting. I do not want to sacrifice my ability to drive these roads for straight line performance.

Also I love the track but do not get out onto it enough maybe 3-5 times a year one is small road course/autocross (it is not purely either one). The other is your normal road course.

I am really liking the mase kit but I have always heard turbo = trouble on the track. So a kraftworks or SOS kit could be a possibility to.

I have a 03 AP1 and my budget would max out at 15k but I would love to do it for 10k.

My priorities with FI would be Reliability>Track ability (under the conditions given above)>Power.

Their is a 550-600rwhp GT500 i would really like to beat though ...

I hit up the twisties quite a lot and i've found that the added power has made the roads a little more intimidating. I liked when stock, with the lower torque, you could stay rely on the linear response of the throttle to keep oversteer in check around corners, but now with the lag of the turbo it makes throttle control becomes even more paramount. Also, now that you're making double or sometimes triple your original power, the speed the car is going at the end of a straight is substantially faster, which makes you either have to use the brakes more, or not accelerate as much, taking away from the WOT experience.
I would go for a supercharger if you like doing lots of twisties, especially if reliability is the most important.

^ as stated above the supercharger would be better for you since you like the twisties plus the low end torque is there without the lag!

I love my setup for back country roads and planning on doing some hpde this year. I went with a smaller turbo and fr mani for quick spool. The best feeling in the world is getting through the apex and letting the boost build so once I'm properly out of it I can just mash it and scream away from the turn!

If you are into the twisties I wouldnt go turbo, I would stay N/A with a nice sounding intake/exhaust. I cant go more than 1/2 throttle in any turn without the back end violently snapping around

I am by no means a good drive so it may be me, but the car is not fun around tight roads a heavy foot

PTuning turbo kit. End thread.

Kit has been proven trackable with no heat issues at all. Fast spool (3700rpm full boost) and a linear power band. The kit has a great overall design with a lot of small things included that further the reliability and installation friendlyness.

See PTuning thread for video, dyno graph, and numerous pictures.

I've built my car primarily for the twisties since i'm also a "driver". A SC is the best option, its got the strait line performance and forgiving/predictable enough in the turns to be faster for most drivers. Balanced, keeping with the integrity of the car is what its about for me, all out performance. Running a high boost (10-15PSI) SOS kit would be my recommendation. A Centrifugal SC is like N/A s2000 power delivery, but much... much faster. Its hard to beat this.

I said 93 octane and I don't even know why because all I can get around here is 91 will this be a huge detriment to power?

Also I do NOT want meth injection. Currently I have a wet 75 shot with a single fogger and I always worry about equal nitrous in each cylinder and just dont want to deal with any of that moving forward.

91 isn't a problem for 400whp+ without meth.

But just fyi, multi port meth injection is the antidote to that issue, I can relate
