I was under the impression that the 1200 blower at 17-18.5 psi would get me there.

i could be wrong, but one guy has hit it on a 1200, and he did it with i think 20+psi, id2200 injectors, KBap, walbro, e85, and sub 32 degree ambient temps.

translation, its not easy. 1500 would make it a lot easier to hit, and with less boost.

I did way back in the beginning.

Daily driving - it's great. If I'm just cruising I get comparable gas mileage to stock (around 30mpg). It's a lot of fun to roll on the throttle to get around cars quickly on the highway. No downshifting necessary and no drama from the car. It feels very smooth and adds to the driving experience on the street.

On track - During the posted track video I had driven the car only a handful of times on the street as the whole build was just being finished. Initially I was a bit apprehensive of all the new found power. Each session I worked into it a bit more and by the end of the weekend (that video) I was pushing the car fairly hard. The car still has more in the straights, the nut behind the wheel still needs to be tightened up a bit more. It was really nice when passing someone on track to just roll on the throttle a little harder and swing right around them.

During tight corners and corner exit the car felt very predictable and smooth. No unexpected surge in power and power was easily controlled via right foot. Check the PTuning thread for my dyno. The graph is not a bell curve, it's a linear climb start to finish.

If you have a properly set up turbo kit there is no reason it should surge and feel unpredictable on track.
Metros,

I know you posted back awhile ago but most people, including myself dont have the time to read through other posts to find info and your experience with this kit is relevant to this thread. Thanks for taking time to repost it in here

By the way 30mpg is amazing. My 02 ap1 stock was lucky to get 23-25mpg

and as for all this SC vs FI twisties nonsense, its the driver mostly, not the car.

an NA s2k with a great driver could rape my roots blown insta powered s2k on a track if i was the driver of mine. its experience and there adaptation to the cars power curve and delivery that will mostly determine the cars worth on the twisties. people like SC cars because back in the s2ki early days, a turbo car would overheat on teh track. times have changed. momentum was trakcing a 600whp turbo s2k. ptuning just came out with a kit that he puts his blessing on to track.

if i had my way, big ass twin screw blower would be my top choice. but that shit doesnt exist

once my car is done, i will tell you how well a 500whp turbo s2k does on the dragon. my prediction, its gonna be HELLA FUN.
