I don't think you need to modify the front bumper THAT much. check your piping, make sure it is installed properly.

chrisg26, did you use AP2 harness on your AP1?

That's what I was thinking too. I don't understand how the piping can be installed incorrectly

The grill was cut perfectly to fit the intercooler. The driver's side vent is in the way of the bumper to be lined up perfectly.

^^^Olegator, I DID use an AP2 harness on my AP1. I found some old instructions from Chris Lum about changing the harness, but I just couldn't make any sense of them because I couldn't find a "green wire with gray stripe." Help Chris?

When I installed my piping a few days ago (not saying I did it the RIGHT way) I cut the top two pieces of the plastic grill off. I trimmed the lower pieces a little bit, and I bent the bracket for the AC fluid holder back. If you remove the bracket and hammer it down a little bit, you can create more clearance. Leaving the lower two pieces of the grill and spraying the intercooler black makes everything look pretty stealthy. Hope this helps.

I think it is pretty efficient.....probably 450? It's efficiency is in it's ability to cool the air efficiently at certain airflow numbers, hp is just a byproduct.
