Default under body turbo

Has anyone thought of mounting the turbo underneath the car similar to the aps turbo for the z?
I think it would be cool to hide the turbo and throw on a air to water to keep it stealthy.

That is interesting. Some pics from that site.

Be hell tracking down a leak. Plus you have to put the car on a lift or jack stands to get to the air filter.

Or you can get a bottom mount manifold just like the top fuel turbo setup. I saw it in person and I didnt realize the car was turbo'd until I saw all the other related components. Seemed pretty "stealthy" to me.

I didnt mean rear mount, I meant mounting it next to the tranny, near to or in place of the cat.

I think that rear mount setup is f-in stupid

Ahhh but yet very smart. Exhaust gasses at the tail pipe is much cooler than the gasses at the manifold. Coller air means densor air, which with a turbo means less air required to spool. It also creates less heat overall which helps lower charged air temps. And let's not forget that you can now tune by changing headers for more top end or midrange just like an NA car. But I do agree that it's not an ideal setup because of the pressure loss from the back of the car to the front of the car, but if your turbo is big enough, it may be worth it in the end.
