Default Upgrade to GT4094R?

I'm really considering upgrading my 4088 to a 4094 to get the extra ~100hp

Is anybody running the 4088r on high boost? If so what kind of numbers are you puting down on how much boost?

my question is why would you need to go bigger? You have only made 500hp but want a bigger turbo? If its a dyno queen then go for it, if its a drag car it will be too big

I'd like to make as much power as possible, last year my fuel system would only allow 16psi and i upgraded everything over winter and I want to make more power then my 4088r will make ( approx 700) but I don't want to get a new manifold etc... It is a daily driver/ weekend track car

I was looking at the same turbos you have suggested. I wanted something that would give me good power but would also still be streetable, after talking to IP about my plans we went with the PT6776RHP which is capable of 750-800hp.

It should produce a little more power than the GT4088R and spool up fairly quickly for a turbo it's size. I've read quite a few good things about it from tuners like Evans tunning.

As for the GT4094R I've seen some mix reveiws from people who switched from the GT4088R to the 94R and said it wasn't worth it in there experience, and suggested going with a GT42R at that point, because they didn't see any significant gains and disliked the spool characteristics of the 94R compared to the 88R.

I can not fit anything bigger under my hood at this time unless I change up my setup, my 4088r is about 1/16 inch away from the vtec solenoid.

Also the upgrade would be free to the 4094 because my buddy has one he will swap with me..

Is it still not worth the change??

And my brother is my tuner so I gets it for free

^^me too^^ my brother's great with cars, but he doesn't know how to tune ems's like AEM. I really would like to send him to a school for tunning so he could learn.

If you can why not tune the car with the 88R first then try tuning it with the 94r and see the differences between the two turbos at the same boost level. You'll probally need your friend to be flexible with you on him lending you the turbo to see if you want to make the trade. If you don't like the 94R after the testing you can switch back to the 88R and load the map for that setup back in to the AEM. Since you have a free tuner your not going to spend big money on tunning, plus you'll help others decide what turbo would be a better fit for there cars too.

Good luck to you.

I made 703whp@32lbs on my 84.5mm gsr motor with that turbo. I cant believe you want to go bigger It will never spool. I reved my civic to 10k just use the power. Dont build a dyno queen
