Houston we have a problem. The turbine wheel is chipped on a few blades. SO I see two different options.

1) replace the cartridge for the t518z and be done with it
2) upgrade to a gt30 and try to keep the pfab log mani (I know it’s terrible for power but we are on a budget here).

I want to keep the downward facing manifold and to keep temps low and reliability high. That’s the point of this whole build. I’m not chasing numbers. I really just want some low end torque and canyon/track street car. So I’m looking into gr3071r/3076r and leaning towards the 76r but with a t25 flange for the pfab mani. ATP has t25 inlet, IWG turbines that flow like a t3. I’ll have to weld the IWG since the pfab has a EWG flange on it already.

Its all good. Made sense why the turbo was cheap. What's your IG? I'll follow back!

More than likely going to just replace the CHRA. I'll eventually do a gt30 upgrade or gtx upgrade. I already have the hot side parts and have seen the log mani can choke up the engine with a gt30. I'll work out all the bugs first and then upgrade.

Also, if anyone is interested. I found this while doing research on a new CHRA for the t518z. A lot of the inducer/exducer measurements of replacement CHRA's for the turbine and compressor wheels are very similar. At this point it would be a matter of angle of attack and number of blades of the compressor and turbine sides.

Gonna do a Schmuck kit. Greddy kit was cool, had no issues, I’m just bored with the s2000 in general so I’m gonna hood dump it and roll the fenders and just go crazy.

I wont throw in the oil pan because I need it for my new set up. I don’t wanna dirty up this thread so send me a PM if interested.

Schmuck kit will get you some really good power. Heard great things about it. I’d totally get the backup t518z but I just ordered the CHRA so I’ll pray everything works as it should going into this lol

Some small but quick updates. Stripping and polishing IC pipes took awhile. I have OCD about the small dents and did my best to take most of em out.

Also painted the compressor, turbine housing, and downpipe and baked it to cure. Next it’s just heat wrapping the downpipe and possible the manifold and we’ll be set to install.
