well after two years of doing research on turbo or supercharger and which one to go with , i ordered my vortech supercharger kit last week and awaiting it's arival so i can install it.
So if you are asking me, Vortech all the way!!
LOL, I spent two years making up my mind too, and now have a Comptech.

Either supercharger has more capacity than the stock injectors can handle, so unless you plan on modifying the kit AND going with larger injectors and an ECU upgrade the maximum capacity (850 VS 1000 CFM) is irrelevant. The difference in power output from the stock systems is not huge - close enough to be a wash. I like the oil return on the Vortech better, but Comptech has customer service that is second to none (and for me, that was an important consideration).

Both systems are well sorted out now, and they both make the car far more enjoyable without sacrificing reliability.

What maintenance? Reliability? My Vortech is kicking ass after 2 years at 13 psi and no problems. How many Novi1000s are reliably pumping out over 400 hp? There seems to be lots of biased or incorrect information in this thread.
tizight I based my opinion from what I gethered, good to hear tho.

im not biased, just giving an opinion there cheif since thats what he was asking.

bottom line it sounds like personal preference vortech or comptech both are spiffy!

An issue no one has brought up is the cost of install.

My performance shop charges $500 for a comptech install and $1000 for a vortech.

My .02 is that either way both are great and fun once it is all said and done.

Good luck

comptech makes more than just superchargers for the s2000, they are experts when it comes to our cars... well, not that they actually make the blower anyways, they put together a nice kit.

The Vortech is not a Novi1000. The Novi1000 only moves a maximum of 850 cfm whereas the S-trim Vortech is capable of 1000 cfm. Out of the box the Vortech kit is capable of more power and modified it is again capable of more power.
...and the novi2000 puts out 1400cfm.

Easily remedied by tapping the oil pan. It's on my list...I will post a how to with pics when I get around to it.
