When you get an EMS, it does not use the oil pressure sensor off of the vtec solenoid like stated above. Depending on your turbo kit, you may need to remove the plug for the sensor. Negatory.

We have 2 oil pressure sensors. There is one below the vtec solenoid and also one physically attached to the vtec solenoid. The one below the vtec solenoid is for the oil pressure light. The one physically on the solenoid is used by the stock ecu to see if oil pressure is high enough for vtec to engage. The EMS ignores the oil pressure sensor that is physically on the vtec solenoid. This bolt plugs and replaces the oil pressure sensor that is physically on the vtec solenoid.

Ok thankyou. So how does my Series 2 EMS now control the vtec, and if it can kick in or not?

standalones control vtec simply by turning the solenoid on and off. the solenoid is the top connector on the vtec itself. in stock configuration, vtec solenoid gets activated via oil pressure, hence the oil pressure switch.

thanks for clearing that up. I guess because the EMS ignores that pressure sensor, people decide to get a oil pressure gauge.

Both oil pressure sensors are hobbs switches. The circuit is open/off below the set oil pressure. When the oil pressure is at or above the set pressure, the circuit is closed/on. They can not tell the exact oil pressure, just if oil pressure is at or above whatever each switch is set at for oil pressure and if it is below the set oil pressure.

The oil light on the dash still works like stock as that circuit is still used.

I have love fab GT1 manifold. My header and DP is heat wrapped, i still managed to melt my sensor... I will be ordering this soon!
