Default Walbro 255 Fuel Pump and Kit Question

Planning on getting a Walbro 255 fuel pump (GSS342) for my SC build and wondering if I need to get the additional universal install kit or can I just use the OEM parts already on the car like sock, clamps, wires, etc.?

Thanks

Just did a couple of these this week. Reuse all oem parts. For 00-05 it'll drop right in. Easy

If you have a 06+ the pump is a tiny bit longer than oem and you'll need to do some trimming - either trim the plastic tube and use a hose to attach the pump to the tube. OR trim the plastic on the bottom of the pump

Thanks for you help! I have an 06 so I guess I will have to do some trimming. You don't happen to have a pic of how you trimmed it do you?

Youll see what hes talking about. The feed on 06+ on top pf the pump is a hard plastic tube that seals by upward force. But since its a solid piece doesnt give it much room for anything bigger because the bottom clips over the pump and holds it up and forced on. It took some elbow grease and sweat but i got mine on and never had a problem with it. Bought the walbro 255 from SOS as long as its that it should fit. Cant imagine any of them are to different except the small Q&C tolerances of manufacturing. If you cant get the bottom to clip, ditch the top plastic tubing and get (i think) 3/8's fuel hose (with two clamps), cut to length and manipulate height so bottom clip with isolator in hugs it secure. GL!

harness should plug right in. If your careful i reused the lil metal washer that holds the sock on to. Pry it off with small flat head (when replacing snug it back on and use the flat head to push the tabs into the middle poll thing they kinda snag onto)

Here's how to cut the plastic tube and use hose https://www.s2ki.com/forums/s2000-forced-induction-142/06-walbro-fuel-pump-install-trimming-fit-840994/

As for the other option of trimming the plastic on the pump - once you see the pump it's pretty self explanatory, you trim back the ridge of the plastic at the bottom of the pump
