Have you thought about running a fuel surge tank? You could just use your intank pump to feed the surge, then run the larger pump(s) from the surge tank. This would stop you from having to sump your tank.

Good example:

Just a thought...

yeah post pics when you got it all done... also I'm like the surge tank idea, would one run the return back to the fuel tank or into the surge tank? I'm just not sure how one walbro 255lph can keep the surge tank full with 2 bosch 044s sucking it dry??? I would think that the boschs would pump it empty faster than the walbro could fill it... what do you all think?

^ that is why you'd have the fuel rail return to the surge tank first, and then ahve another return to the main tank. That way it'd always keep the surge tank full (albeit with probably hotter fuel).

the surge tank set up may cost more than the sumping.

Senario:
Bosch 044 inline and Walbro 342 in the tank with a filter before the 044.
Several have posted on the other boards that the Bosch inline can pull fuel through the Walbro and maintain adequate flow/pressure. If that is so, I would think dual 044s could pull through the surge tank and the Walbro and provide plenty of fuel. Now then, this it totally conjecture until someone posts some proof.

What to do?
I am aware of a flow bench for fuel pumps at RC Engineering. I have new Bosch 044 and Walbro 342 pumps. I am willing to get the combo flow tested and them have them remove the power from the Walbro and see if the Bosch 044 does indeed still pump adequate fuel and pressure.

Dilemma. I did my taxes yesterday and ouch, cash flow crunch for a few weeks. This results in my not being able to do the testing currently. Since I need to put the pumps in the car, they will not be available for the test after this week. Does anyone want to help out with a small donation for this research project? PM me if you do. Thanks.
