Joey...I think in Hoboken area it's not such a big deal...especially driving down the turnpike to EWR. With all the busses and everything I would have no problem opening it up. I used to live in Weehawken and did that drive almost once a week. I just live in a very different area now and there isn't much tollerence for it. Have you ever drivin around HPN? Thats basically my area.

If you're using a 38mm wastgate, it's 1 1/8" ID. I measured the actual dump tube.

This calc is handy:

Did you see my earlier post? I put a link up to a pretty decent one made by Harley Davidson I believe. Scroll back and look for it.

I believe most dump tubes are around 1-7/8" but you could make that muffler work with a reducer.

I just thought of something. Those shorty high performance motorcycle mufflers may work also. Something like this and it fits a 1-3/4" pipe..... http://www.debrix.com/ProductDetails.asp?P...ctCode=48002-K1
I'm not sure how I could make that fit...not much room in there, but love the idea

if you were planning on going recirc then that would be the quietest way. also did you try look at burnsstainless.com? they have race mufflers that are low profile
