why would you use a SC instead of a Turbo?! If you dont want top end power and ur interested in low-mid, then just get a small turbo! there is no reason in spinning a SC to its limit to get more low-mid power and dump the 'excess' boost! Its just not efficient!

On the otherhand, you can upgrade to a 2.4 NA and almost get the same low-mid end power.

For the same reason people choose to go SC in the first place? Ease of installation? Reliability?

I am SC myself for the same reasons, ease of installation, reliability, low temps etc.
But if I wanted low-mid range, and boost up to 10psi, I wouldnt go with a SC and a wastegate and spining the SC to its limits just to get boost on the low RPM side, I would go with a small turbo. There are many bolt on turbo kits out there that are as easy installed as a SC and especially for low end power a lot more efficient than a SC.
Maybe its just me, what can I say...

Next weekend I'm going to see about removing the wastegate and either blocking the hole for it, or seeing if I can find a BOV which can fit over the same hole.

why, you should test this out. in theory it should work. id love to see a dyno of this with the 3.0 pulley but limited to 10psi.

I don't know if the wastegate is even functioning, and at what psi it's set at (if it uses a spring), and I don't want to get a boost controller, etc.

then just leave it there.... the spring inside will keep it shut, but i think you should really test it out
