Honestly what you need to do is unbolt that wastegate for a few moments, throw a pressure source on the vacuum/pressure nipple on it (like if you have a small air compressor or buddy with one) and find out at what PSI the wastegate cracks open. That will tell you if you have a 6psi spring, 8psi, etc.

Also, remember that a boost controller can only RAISE the boost from whatever your spring is, it cannot lower it. So definitely find out what spring your wastegate has already before dropping any money ($5 or $100) on a boost controller.
Thanks for the info. I'll try this method this weekend and try to determine the PSI.

99SH did this. Search for his posts, but for the work involved to do this I'd argue it isn't worth it. For a similar amount of work, you can add meth/H2O injection, aem fail-safe and run 18 psi on the stock block.

I have a waste gate setup on my SOS kit also and yes it works just fine just alittle work is required
