Default Wastegate size for turbo

Hi guys, new to the forum (although i have been lurking the forums for a few months). Recently picked up a s2000 and looking to turbo it. Yes, i know what im getting into and am aware.

Okay now for the question. I recently purchased an inline pro log manifold. I see its only for 38mm wastegate. Isn't this too small of a wastegate to run 15 or so psi from a 35r size (.76 a/r) without boost spikes? testimonials from people who have done this before would be great.

I have a slightly smaller a/r, I believe it was .68, on my 35r at 22lbs of boost. No boost spikes here.

In my experience with that particular manifold a 38mm gate works fine for controlling boost.

You're fine. The reality is the 44mm isn't that much bigger and the single 44 works up to a GTX4718 on v8's on low boost which have to bypass much more exhaust.
