Its a bit of a situation, so get comfortable and grab the reading glasses.
On April 1st at the 72000 mile mark I had Joe @ Hardtopguy install a Comptech Supercharger with 7psi Pulley on my car. I drove that approximately 4k miles until July 13th (76500 miles) when I installed a 3.25" Pulley (9.75psi), AEM EMS, 3.5 Bar Map Sensor, Fuel Fuel Pressure Regulator, and RC 650cc Injectors. My tuner tuned for 12.0:1 A/F closed loop on partial throttle and 11.6:1 A/F open loop on full throttle - at 57psi Fuel Pressure.
Roughly 2k miles later, at 78500 miles I started hearing a clicking noise from the rear of the car and had a local friend take a look. Since he has experienced problem after problem, he immediately knew it was the Axles. That very same night after a rather hard drive I heard a tapping noise coming from under the hood at idle, once I gave the car a bit of throttle, the tapping got quicker. A local mechanic friend / s2000 owner told me he has a good feeling it is the Timing Chain Tensioner, so I purchased a new one.
In the meantime, I as well shipped my head to Alaniz Technologies to have a full Competition Head Package performed.
Yesterday my friend and I went into the garage to start prepping the block for re-installation of the head and we noticed this (pictures below). Cylinder #2 has been terribly scored.
We figured that the tapping noise I was hearing was probably not my timing chain tensioner, however the piston actually shifting - as he could manually shift the piston back and forth by hand, a good bit of play.
Does anyone have any recommendations/suggestions as to what could have caused this?
I'm wondering if severe "pistion slap" can do this? Also, do you have the upgraded oiljet bolts. I'm also wondering if those would have prevented this. Sorry, I can't answer your questions but maybe the answer to mine will lead to an answer to yours.

Nah, might as well get it sleeved.
With the amount of boost he wants to run, simply overboring the cylinder, thereby making the walls that much thinner, really isn't an option at this point.
