I was pondering that it could be a clogged oil jet too. We'll find out once the block is yanked out.

One more thought, I noticed that you seemed to be pumping a ton of raw fuel out the exhuast at the Dragon last year, and the trip back. Hence the flames, and backfiring. So what I think could be happening is fuel washout. To much unburned fuel can wash the oil away from the rings, and cylinder wall, that you would pick up scarring. Just washing out the same spot over and over with no lubrication???? What you guys think?Mark
Speaking very briefly with Earl Laskey @ Laskey Racing - he said that given the pictures that he believes the scoring was due to running the engine too lean.
Mark - to answer your question, no sir. The cylinder wall looks perfectly fine on the opposing side.
