S2000 Forced Induction S2000 Turbocharging and S2000 supercharging, for that extra kick.

What are my roots-type options?

Default What are my roots-type options?

I've been searching, reading, researching for a couple of hours now, and so far I have only found one roots-type supercharger system for the S2000: Stage One Tuning

Do I have other options, as far as a complete, bolt-on kit? I haven't shut out the idea of a centrifugal SC or even a turbo kit, but I really would like a screw SC over anything else. Thanks guys.

Link to my dyno plots for my SOT setup and some data from tracking the setup

This is on a dynodynamics
(aka the heartbreak dyno because they read lower then other dynos.

Yeah, no screws only SOT roots. Screw SC would be cool, although SOT looks really good.

OK, just checking... thanks for the supporting info, MugenRioS2k, I have to think about this... I want something fairly bulletproof and idiotproof that is ready to run right out of the package without much fuss. I was hoping for a roots-type, but I'm not sure if SOT is the right setup for me or not. Dang, thinking, thinking...

If you have questions feel free to ask.

I am the first AP2 with this kit and have been involved with it since the beginning.

Other then a change in one parts material that caused the TB to stick (now corrected) there has not been a mechanical failure of the kit. Even with Camuman (FL) spinning the blow way above the manufactures suggested limit. Camuman will be the first to break 380whp with this kit maybe 400 if he is luckey

To my knowledge there is only one owner that has experienced problem out of his setup.
This is not because of the kit there is another issues that we have drilling down to the root cause. I have been working with him to fix his issues adjusting the tunne as appropriate to further the investigation.
He does not have anyone locally that tunes the ULT and those that have tried had just made things worse or they realy do not know how to use the ULT within its limits.

Once he gets his wideband installed I will be able to tune his car remotely for him.

Just like I did for Vader1. When Vader1 went to the dyno his tuner messed with the base map and caused him to loose power. After he sent me his data logs I was able to tune his car to make more power then the base map (as expected) and get him into the +300/+210.

If he was local would probably would have got him in the 310/220 area on the 125mm pulley. But not being with the car in person during tuning I did not want to go past the 300/210 area

I give the SOT kit high marks. Its not going to make insane turbo power numbers but its a blast to drive fast. Power with no waiting.

The only downside that I can see for the SOT kit is the cost. Ideally I want 350hp at the rear wheels with not much tuning and low maintenance. I'm not gonna race the car, I don't need any more than 350RWHP, but I also want to get the best value.

When I decided I wanted to SC the car I didn't know the difference between roots and centrifugal superchargers. I had only driven roots-type and loved them, and also I'm not real big on turbocharging it because I want something a little more sophisticated (I'm getting old).

So I'll be balancing an SOT kit against one of the centrifugal kits against a turbo kit now. Ugh, why can't this be easier? I am mentally prepared to spend $5000 to add 125-150hp and I just don't think I can get the SOT for that price.
