S2000 Forced Induction S2000 Turbocharging and S2000 supercharging, for that extra kick.

What are my roots-type options?

used VT bolt on kit can be done for that kinda money with a clutch for safety.

but a new kit is gonna be hard to extract that kinda power wihtout a tuning solution, and a clutch will be needed, and thats gonna cost more moola!

disregard the money for a moment, and figure out which kit will be best. VT/CT are vtec on steriods. roots blower kit is v8 powerband on a 4 banger turbo, any kit besides greddy, has best overall upgrade path, but if your not gonna do it, then well, its a toss up.

i love my powerband, car feels ballsy everywhere. good luck with choce. if you choose SOT/SXM kit with emu u will love it thats 100% for sure. you will need 135 pulley to make about 350ish. 142 will do it easier i am on a 150 now. and theres a 155 and a 160 in the works.

god FI is addictive.

devs2k - Well, the whole image of a turbo'd car with the BOV, etc. I'm not putting it down at all, I just want to try something new. Fast and Furious left some scars, that's all. Hehe...

Great, now every S2K-turbo owner is going to hate me, hahaha.

haha it's all good

the SOT kit is nice, low end torque!

You won't get that with a centrifugal. It's a more involved install though..

camuman - I hear ya on the budget thing... I guess that I figured I could buy a supercharger for cost then install it myself on a weekend and be ready to rock. I hadn't calculated in the centrifugal vs roots thing... I just sold my SC430 and I got used to the low-end torque and figured that roots is the way to go. Hmmm....

i promise you will like it. yes its a lil more involed to install. but honestly not a big deal.

you will really appreciate the power band. price though is tough, becuase VT/CT are available used, it makes new kits look expensive. but used can have its problems, missing parts, blown seals. bleh bleh. anyways.

you can def install yourself. the prob is a centrifugal stock kit may not need a new cclutch, but a roots blower setup will prolly need one. 210wtq is tough on a stock clutch.

pm me if you need pics have questions about teh setup.

Yeah, I'm supposed to be meeting up with S20004ME in the next few days to check out his supercharged S... then I can make a more informed decision. I'll keep you updated.

The roots SC and the centerfugal are two totally different animals down low.

I thought the install was not so much difficult mechanically as it is a long process. There are 20 tasks that are pretty easy individually and all that work leaning over the car killed my back. If you have a friend help you you could knock out most of the kit in the afternoon with one person working on each side of the car. I only had help when I mounterd the blower for about an hour or two and that is key because it is heavy.

You realise you don't need an open wastegate or trumpet on the BOV if you don't want it.
