What setup is best for me?
So basically my first main concern is cost. I don't have gobs of money to throw into this, and I know because if this I will NOT have the best/fastest setup. That is totally fine with me. I don't really have a budget for the build, just the minimum I can and still meet the rest of the criteria below.
My second main concern is reliability. The car is my DD and I don't want to have a new problem coming up every week.
Again, as I said I AM NOT looking to have an extremely high powered setup. I would be totally content with making in the neighborhood of 350-400whp, running on 10-12psi (or less if possible, and still make those numbers). I think these are pretty modest goals, and I'm not expecting to want to raise them any time soon (and if I do, I'll build a new setup) so I'm not worried about the potential to make more power in the future.
Now, I don't feel like I'm a complete newb, but I also know I still have a lot to learn. But from what I can tell, there seems to be three main variations with basic turbo setups that have the biggest effect on the amount of power the car makes. That's where I was hoping you guys could help me decide whats best for me...
1. Turbo. ---- I honestly have no idea what turbo I would/should use... this is where I need the most help.
2. Manifold. ---- Seems to me like the InlinePro (or maybe PFab?... idk) log manifold would be a good fit, but idk, you guys know a lot more than I do...
3. Engine Management. ---- I know the AEM EMS is the best, but I was hoping I might be able to get away with an E-manage Ultimate since its half the price and I'm not looking to make too much power... what do you guys think?
Anyways, like I said, those three seem to be the most important... so I figured it would be a good place to start. Any/all tips, tricks, suggestions, etc. are appreciated.
Sorry if I said anything too newbish.
Let me know what you guys think would be the best for my goals.
Thanks,
-Will
Edit: Btw, I know I do NOT want a Supercharger or Greddy kit, so don't bother suggesting either, lol.

Go Mase kit!
And DONT skimp on getting an AEM EMS! If your worried about 500 extra bucks FI isn't for you...
Almost all tuners absolutely hate the greddy e manage.
Just so you know, any decent turbo kit and all you need like clutch etc will cost you at least 7k. To be honest, most of us are well over 10k in the hole..

Thanks for the opinions on the emanage guys.
But I'm not looking to buy a full kit as I think it will be much cheaper to piece my own kit together with used parts. I know this isn't ideal for some of you, but for me it is.
Anyways, as I said in the OP, what manifold, and turbo do you guys think would work best for me?
Nope, the 01' motor spun a rod bearing... having a non-DBW f22c swapped in.

Your also going to need your oil jets changed to the newer ones since you have a 2001.

Hey im new to the s2k scene but not the modification scene and I will be getting into a s2k soon hopefully and have plans on going turbo. Personally I would go with a 3076r this will get you into you range easily while staying at/under 12 psi from what i've seen from others setups with this turbo. Also i've heard full races manifolds are the great but what do I know this is just from reading and researching. I suggest you do alot of that before you get knees deep in this build and realize as much of a budget your on your most likely going to go over it.
