Default What should I do next to get more from the Vortech

Hey guys. I was thinking about going turbo, but it just seems like too much work and money right now. I want to upgrade my setup (in my sig). I figure a smaller pulley for higher boost (14psi??), AEM EMS, maybe a better header, Alaniz "Competition Headwork," and a ProFlow TB. Is nthere anything you would add or subtract to my list? I am trying to make as much power as I can with my blower and I want to be able to compete with some high end cars in my area.

Competing in what? Best dynos? Lap times? 1/4 times?

If all you want are big numbers on a dyno then you will probably have to build a low compression bottom end and go high boost turbo.

Short term the HKS probably isn't helping you much either. Go with a bigger single. I'm not familiar with the DC Sport header does on an FI car but they don't do anything for an NA AP1.

This desire to "compete" will end up costing some big money. In fact, what you are trying to do may soon become a money pit.
Contact "Sideways". He pulled 440 on a dyno a few weeks ago with a Vortech.

Then this is the more reason to contact him. If you want to do what he did, only he can tell you how. Others will tell you a different approach which may or may not achieve the same goal.

ps. You might also be interested that lately, Sideways has broken something. With that kind of output, comes another price to be paid. You might want it all, but can you really have it all?

Dave,
Other than blowing out an exhaust, what have I broken? Oh, yes, a few exotic owners hearts.

I just knew you were looking for "something" to fix up what had broken. Just couldn't remember what it was. Glad to hear it was only an exhaust. Besides those "hearts", you gotta count all the "green with envy" guys, too.
