Default Which Supertech spring rate for 600whp

Hello,

I am in a process to change my Supertech single spring titanium retainers with new dual ones on my built engine. What spring rate people are using and which Supertech kit do you propose? Single spring, dual or beheive kit and what spring rate? Car will be retuned to around 600whp. I have oem camshafts and only planning to increase my current 9000rpm range to 9200rpm

Thanks,
Chris

Iirc im using 95lb dual st springs. Stock cams. You really only need stiffer springs if youre using aggressive cams.

Thank you for your reply. You mean stiffer than 95lbs springs i need with aggresive cams? Is it 95lbs ok with stock cams or to go with less stiffer springs than 95lbs. I actually was thinking to put the supertech kit with 92-95lbs springs but i didn't know if i really need that or put the 80lbs springs

When I was in need of new springs I talked to Supertech and they told me, with stock cams, I should run 80lbs springs. That was for a N/A build however, might be different with forced induction.

I have had good success with supertech dual springs 80lb and Ti retainers with a 550hp AP1. Stock motor. It was driven hard on the street and on the track (road course). 80lb came as a recommendation from Kings Performance and I was also able to back it up with more research.

That's what i want to find out. Cause i have seen people use stiffer springs than 80lbs for turbo set up's with stock cams and i want to know why and if it is necessary lets say for 9200rpms? I am between 80lbs and 92-95lbs (don't know which number is correct as the same supertech kit is advertised as 92 or 95lbs) and trying to gather some info which will be the best of 2 kits for my application

Call around and shop around. I have seen a variety of prices for springs/retainers. I ended up ordering mine from Kings Performance as they had the best price. I also got their spring removal tool which worked great. It works as advertised with the head on the car as long as your intake manifold is not on. With some minor touches with a grinder to the tool, it can fit while keeping the intake manifold on the car.
