Try not to ask any oil questions on this forum. It has been talked about 100000 times and always starts arguments.

do a search and do a search in the UTH forum.

I am switching from M1 10w-30 to Redline 10w-40. I have done a LOT of research on oil before coming up with this, and it seems to be a really good choice for FI applications. Not the only good choice, but a good choice. You have to order it online though, but it is supposed to be good stuff.

good luck

I would highlty recomend the following (2) oils which are availible at most automotive stores, read my above link for back ground, which does not included opionions just the facts.

http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/MotorO...acing_Oils.aspx

http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/...l_1_0W-40.aspx

Castorl 0W-30 is also in the same category

Look for oils that are not Energy Concerving and you will be better off.

I was using the euro 5-40 from Amsoil but at nearly $9 I felt I needed to try something else, just switched to the Mobil 0-40. Sounds like its a good choice so maybe i'll stick with this for a wile, my only concern was that it might be a little on the light side for summer. I was thinking 10-40 might be best to switch in the hot weather and then go back to the 0-40 in the colder months? I want to make sure i'm using the right weight oil for max protection for my set up.

Interesting, well all oil gets thinner as it gets hotter. The 10-40 does appear to be thicker oil then the 0-40 cold, the 0 & 10 is the cold start rating, but wondering if the 10-40 would still be thicker hot do to its thicker cold characteristics over the seemingly thinner 0-40, thats how my thinking as transpired.
