ignorance is bliss yes?

its all in the friggin tune. cold start means your tuner didnt tweak shit. mine has started like stock down to 40 degrees ambient. heck, it was 60 here this morning, it fired right up, enriched, idle dropped down as it warmed, then i drove away.

you want the best for driveablility? get someone to tune it all, not just WOT fuel/timing

now, if emmissions is a problem in your area, then i would lean towards krpo. but you can pick up a aem ems v1 1052u for prolly a G in the for sale forum. your not gonna come close to that for krpo.
YES! took the words right out of my mouth..

My car is tuned so well it literally drives and starts right up like or near like oem.

my gas mileage is roughly the same as well..

I've had toan at ptuning drive my car and chris at ptuning drive my car and BOTH were amazed how well the car drives. Toan said he wouldnt even touch the tuning at all.

And i dont have to worry about emmissions so that's why i went with aem. Kpro is awesome... and maybe one day if i had to worry about emmissions, i'd switch over. but other than that..... she's a perfect daily driver..

hell i'm more worried if i had a small oil leak or something.. the aem is the LAST thing on my mind.

So did I end up talking you into keeping the S . Ironically enough that friend of mine from the gym I was telling you about is selling his e46 m3 to get another s2000 but this time doing FI to it.

As everyone else stated here as well as I told you when we met up it all comes down to the tune. Granted Jeff is a good 4 hours from you one way he is a excellent tuner. Also the kpro brand new is going to run you about 2 grand not even counting the parts you need to swap over. I think you best route money wise is to pick up another AEM and save the rest of the money for the kit.

Also when it comes to emissions just do what I'm going to do and swap out the ecu for stock and the same with injectors. Pass and then reinstall the two items back. Should take no longer than 30mins tops.

Either way good luck and if you need any help or what not just shoot me a call or pm. Later.

Mike

yes...unfortunately with the AEM you still have to prime the pump..

honestly.. this is the actions that i take and its primed before you know it...

get in the car
put the key in and turn it to ON as if you were about the push the start button...
at that moment, put your seatbelt on..
by the time you click the seat belt in, the car is primed and you just push the start button and your good to go..

The starting is in the tune... sometimes it cranks quickly sometimes it doesnt...that is in the tune...

you have to realize something about tuning..

have you wondered how oem cars can go anywhere and pretty much start and drive no problem in different weather?

Lets choose honda... They take their ecu's and physically tune in different climates... it takes hundreds of hours to tune ONE TYPE OF CAR. They tune and tune and tune at EVERY single scenario imagineable.

You can't expect ONE single tune to be perfect THE FIRST time. you may get close... and the tuner can get tune to what he/she thinks it would be best suited for cold start...

but going back for fine tuning is the best. the aem for example takes data logs and the tuner can go and readjust over and over to fine tune...then your at the point where the car runs great all the time.

remember.. its tuning. its time.

Jeff Evans is an extremely proficient tuner with hundreds if not thousands of tunes under his belt. You will not have to make frequent trips back to him for adjustments.
