u gonna want a 2nd gen or even a NEO. the 1st gen are outdated by now. having a VAFC to tune your engine is only good for 8 lbs of boost so if you are gonna want more save up for an emanage of EMS

I cant think of anyone who has had alot of sucess tuning with a V-AFC while boosting. They are garbage IMO for FI Honda's.

I have a VAFCII and we use it to make sure I am not running lean under boost.

I have one...I bought the EMS>...VAFC II gave me all sorts of stupid issues. If you're going to be economical about it I recommend an Emanage or wait till AEM comes out with their piggy back to see how that goes.

it cant compare to ems, but if you already have it or get one cheap, its an added assurance if you plan on keeping everything stock (thats what i did).. on my stock vortech, it helped lower the fuel ratio by about 1 point.. (keep in mind there's a limit to the tuning, usually u can't go past +10 without throwin out a code - you're limited because of the map clamp...) Hope that helps. and as far as the vafc2 giving you issues, have it installed right if you're nervous about tapping the wires, it'll work fine if installed correctly. Good luck

(PS the vafc is not garbage, if you know how to use it lol)

stock fuel setup< stock fuel setup with vafc2 < aem

I had MAJOR issues with a VAFC, when adding fuel it would massively retard timing. (so much so I was getting 160bhp dyno runs, yes 30bhp LESS than a stock car).

I bought an EMS ..

do you know how much timing it pulled? I know it pulls timing as you add fuel, but i'm curious to see how much?. One guy here has the same setup but with a vortech, dyno'd 315 i think?, I believe his SN is joe sled.. and yes, EMS is MUCH better, but if keeping the stock setup with no ems, the vafc can certainly add a lil more cushion of safety.. and when you're running lean (as some stock setups do), having the timing retard a bit is not a bad idea.. my .02

the reason the vafc2 does this is because vafc's use map voltage to add fuel. YOU CANNOT ADD FUEL WITH A VAFC ON A HONDA. It will add voltage to your map causing it to trip. When tuning with a vafc, you want to use bigger injectors and crank up the fuel as much as possible, so you can lean it out instead of adding fuel.

also there is no big differences between the vafc and the vafc2 besides the way they look. Both do the same things
