I had a customer who had a 300whp vortech ap2 . He broke 1 axle , 1 second gear , and finally a rear end . He then got rid of the car . It really is how you drive it and not all about the power as stated .

Makes me wonder why anyone would shell out huge bucks for more power if they weren't planning on driving the car hard..

you dont have to start fortifying everything just yet. best advice, just check things more often, and if car feels weird, stop beating on it and check it out.

i drive mine very hard, but i still pay attention to weird sounds and check things here and there.

change your oil often and monitor spark plugs. its not rocket science having a boosted s2k.

harder you drive, typically sooner things break.

yea, I have 550 to the wheels at 19psi (dynapack) and I drive my car fairly hard. I dont go WOT in 1st or 2nd in high boost and dont shift hard or launch the car, I think that makes a HUGE difference when it comes to parts breaking

That's my impression as well. So long as you do things to minimize "shock" to the drivetrain, then it shouldn't be too prone to breaking.

I'm curious as to no WOT in 1st and 2nd gear though. Once everything is hooked up, does it really put that much stress on it to give it WOT? Hard launches and powershifts are tough, I get that, but it wouldn't seem like WOT while in gear would be too bad.

Thanks to everyone this thread totally helped me out as of right now i don't launch or put to much strain. As for one of the post earlier about why boost it if you are not going to use it or something along those lines. It is for those times when you are cruising on the highway and some mustang or any other american garbage pulls up acting like muscle can beat anything. Don't get me wrong there are plenty of muscle cars out there that are built and are sick but in my opinion they are cheaply made and way to heavy.
Just to clarify i am not talking about the mustang or the mustang GT i stopped playing with those two a long time ago it was no challenge even before the turbo but as for the cobra those are fun to play around with.
