I really can't speak for the AEM as I said. All I know is what I have learned from the all-powerful interwebs and how the GM sensor will interface with the Haltech Platinum Pro ECU.

Haltech says that their Platinum Pro ECU's are "Flex Ready" as well, but then say that the I/O expander unit is required which gives you an available digital pulsed input channel to wire the sensor to.

I'm not arguing, just trying to understand how this works and really appreciate your input.

I REALLY wanted the sensor to output to my 19-1 serial gauge...instead of purchasing another 200 dollar display strictly for an ethanol reading...at the very least, we should be able to plug in our laptop, and get a reading via the EMS....?

Yeah I know you weren't arguing, lol. To be honest I was hoping that I wouldn't need the Zeintronix either and that I could just wire the sensor directly to my ECU. I didn't care about a readout and figured I could just plug up my laptop if I really wanted to see the percentage. But I just don't think it will work like that. After doing more research and learning all that I have posted, it seems like the Zeintronix (or some other signal converter/interpreter) is necessary. Unless someone on here has experience doing otherwise...

On AEM it wires direct to the ecu. I have my gauge and my AEM both going to the same signal wire.

Both gauge and ecu % match up

My output on the zietronic gauge aren't being used.

My settings

Signal wire is going to the d connector on pin 12 on the AEM series 2 (d12) that input is associated with switch 3

Settings are
Flex fuel input : switch 3
Sw3 falling edge: on
Sw3 rising edge: on
Flex fuel switch : switch always off

Works petfect. All settings in flex fuel tab on AEM tuner.

Look for flex fuel content % and see if it syncs with gauge and all set. If your running pump and don't have a guage you should be at 8-10%

Freakin sweet! Well there you go siadam, lude92, and liquidgsr, you should be good to go! Wish the Haltech had an input that worked... Guess I'll check the sensor output wire versus the Zeintronix 0-5v output for ethanol % and see how they compare to confirm the info I read is correct.

You dont have to take my word for it. I have the aem series2 2.2 firmware notes in pdf. It clearly states everything there and respectively how to wire it up. If someone wants to host it ill email them.

Im sure a simple call to Jeff will put you at ease. He has helped me a few times. There is also another post where someone did all this and did a how to in detail.
