Will this combo of fittings work?

Default Will this combo of fittings work?

I had some braided lines made up at a local hose & fitting store. Now I dont have to worry as much about my oil return melting.

You can see in this pic part of the oil filter relocator... and the blue Eaton (Earls) union that is screwed into it. It only goes in about 5/8" and stops (by hand). The Home Depot brass fitting I have do the same thing.

Ive read about not using teflon tape on the Earls fittings, but what about in this case?
Do you think it will leak if I leave it like this?

All the pieces of my kit are like this. Oil return flange, Oil feed, Oil relocator. All the Earls pieces fit in each other nicely, but not when I put them in the other pieces.

It depends on whether it is a straight thread or a pipe thread. Teflon tape is a great idea, except on the conically shaped Earls fittings that go to another Earls fitting.

you need to further tighten with a wrench, for a worry free seal i use a gasket maker to ensure no leaks

Yeah like a half turn past hand tight?
When you say gasket maker, you mean Permatex RTV orange/red etc? Can that be used in threads, or is there a special type for that?

I use the grey one, since that is the same stuff they use when removing the oil pan....
