Default Oil cooler

Since my turbo set up had me get rid of the oil cooler and use an oil filter relo' kit, I wanted to see what everyone's opinions are on if we need an oil cooler. Yes, I have searched and there was very little info for it. I would like to get an oil cooler as I will be driving my car hard. Do you think it would be best to get a thermostatic cooler that has a fan that is switched on by a temp sensor/ thermostat or is it over kill? Is a normal finned cooler just fine?
Side note is I live in Georgia and its hot!
Thanks guys

I think it depends on your application.

Street car or drag car not as necessary as in a road race application.

I'd like to know as well. Is it possible to use the stock oil cooler with the relocating oil filter kit and just reroute the coolant lines through the oil cooler? Or will it not fit the oil filter relocation kit?

I left my oil cooler in stock location and used the ultimate racing oil relo kit. the plate just bolts onto the oil cooler.

i just used a cheep oil cooler on ebay and made custom lines and mounted it in front of the radiator. i also use an inline pro oil filter relocation kit which made me get rid of the stock oil cooler.

In my case, its a street car but i do some very spirited mountain driving! So I think it would be best. Anyone have experience with thermostatic oil coolers (fan cooled, temp sensor switched)?? Or does anyone have first hand experience with a normal finned oil cooler and how much it cooled the oil or what your oil temps are with your set up?

Not needed for street car. Even in spirited driving. Road race I'd think it's important. But check in the r and c forum to be sure.

If u can fit the stock cooler and relocation plate u can keep it. But most use a relocate kit cause there ain't room there lol.

Thanks Camuman,
Yeah I have zero room to keep my stock cooler! Like others, there isn't room. I'll check the r and c forum like your suggestion.
