Default Worth Supercharging an s2k with 80K miles?

I need experienced S/C owners input. Think its worth installing aS/C on an s2k with 80K miles? I have a MY01, perfectly healthy engine, no issues and oil changes done religiously every 3K miles or even less.

Who has the highest mileage with the S/C installed on it? I value everyone's input, and appreciate it in advance.

Thanks.

I don't have a SC...I have a turbo...which technically is harder on a motor than a SC.

I got my turbo kit installed @ 85,3xx miles back in February. I am now at 91,797 miles. So far so good (thank god, lol)

My take is that if the motor is healthy it shouldn't matter. Make sure to do the compression and leakdown tests to make sure everything check out. If it does, then happy SC'ing

Thanks for chiming in Naveed! Yeah, I will make sure that we do a compression and leak down test before installing the charger.

Worth it? Yes. Modifry had 181,000 miles before his motor went.

While the motor's condition probably is the most pressing factor, worth mentioning is what your long term plan for the car is.

Everyone has there own opinion and financial limitations, but I personally feel that if you are going to spend serious $$ on mods, do it early. I tend to keep my cars a while so having an upgrade as costly as a supercharger early lets you enjoy it for a number of years.

If you plan on keeping the car then go for it. Just budget a little extra for a few items that, after 5 years, are not up to the stresses they'll be seeing after the s/c is installed.

I went CTSC around 70,000... Got about 87,000 on it now (it's only been 6 months) and it's been ROCK solid.
