Yes or no
Building a new rear (using comptech housing and ats carbon lsd) and I am contemplating going to 4.57 gears. Is this good-bad what? I currently have a stock set-up that is going FAST. I have been told by two different people that this a great set-up and one other that says its too much. Anyone out there that can respond w/ experience that has fi with gears would be great. I am also only a weekend driver. Thanks
I have the 4.44 with my Vortech. It was the only one in that range available at the time. I got used to it pretty quickly and found myself wanting more. At first, each of the lower gears don't last very long, but like anything, you get used to it. Your shifting and reaction time will get faster. I'd get 4.57s if I didn't have 4.44s already.

Do it. But if you are planning on running adding more boost in the future, 1st will become less useful with the 4.57s.

HHMM, now I am considering something. How will the 4.57s do when I max out the Vortech SC to say 12-14lbs??
Concerned.
