Having switched from a 2001 Miata to a 2004 S2K (and I did try the Mazdaspeed Miata)...That Mazdaspeed is more along the lines of what Mazda "should have done" in 1999 when it when to the second generation...Stiffer chassis, Bilstien suspension, larger wheels with low-profile tires, better performance (from the turbo vs the previous na motor) It was a better Miata then previous years...though I still wanted and got myself a Honda...I just got tired of all those SUVs having their bumbers above the door sill in a Miata (and the handling without the HP to get out of their way when those SUV drivers get distracted)

The mazdaspeed miata isn't a bad car...definately lacking in the power dept. compared to an S2K but the handling and traction is outstanding and the "feel" of the car is hard to beat. Fit and finish is also quite good.

So it's a miata or mx-5? I don't understand the naming.

An MX-5 is a Miata just like a Lancer is an Evo or a Impreza is a WRX.

FWIW the "Miata" is called the Roadster in Japan, which I think is a much cooler name.

Is your friend a hair-stylist or is he a fashion buyer/designer?

That was a stupid, ignorant lame comment that does nothing but make you look as intelligent as your accusation.

Those look like fun cars. I'd love to toss one around.
