$25K Markup? You Must Be Sick...

A thread awhile back said someone did pay 25K- 35K markup for the first Z06 in the US.
How is this in any way stupid? Dealers are selling them at that price because people will pay for it. Sure it is killing the whole idea of "affordable" performance but from a business standpoint it makes sense.
That is hilarious, but the sad thing is that someone with more money than brains will buy it. I can see a markup, but 25k
on top of the msrp is just rediculous. I wonder if chevy cares at all what the dealer sells them at, probably not.

it is supposed to be the one of the best performance car bargains ever
The point is supposed to be "wow, that's a lot of car for the money", not "whoa, that's a lot of money for that car".
Once you're spending enough to be in Ferrari territory, then just get a Ferrari.
But, if people are willing to spend that much on a Chevy, then I certainly don't fault them for charging that much. That's just business.
Damn. I understand that it's just business. People are just stupid though, they really are. Anyone that wants a Z06 should just walk out of the dealership with them trying to charge that $. If everyone told the dealer to go f*ck themselves with their markup, you wouldn't have that problem. Personally, I think it sucks. They do this with bikes (much smaller markups) and there are good dealers that won't charge more than MSRP, and call the markup nonsense.
As others have stated, a sucker is born everyday.
