Alcantara Interior Project
it will...
the biggest pain in the but is dust... it won't lift right off the material... you need to run a sticky lint roller on that bad boy every chance you get.
another thing too is you need a UV suede protectant because the black discolors quick, turns brownish like bleaching black hair.
but as long as it's not a daily driver your in good hands.
I would love to have an Alcantera Dash and door pannels but i am just fed up with all the prep work to keep it 90% perfect.

So 200$ for both door panels, i can do black suede with red stich, And does that include the door handle piece??
Ok, so more teaser pics. The dash was attempted once before with the stitching following the OEM lines but my stitches ended up nasty:

The material is just so thin and flexible that my machine has a hard time keeping it straight. Especially when I have about two yards of material hanging off one side and pulling everying down.
Anyway, we opted to scrap the stitch idea and to stick with just a uniform cover:

The value of the Alcantara that's draping the dash is almost twice as valuable as the dash itself
Started off by carefully measuring (don't want to waste)

The top part is mostly covered. I have to drag it on down through the bottoms and sides. It's definitely a chore to stretch and pul and make it lay right. definitely not the easiest contours to work with.

I went ahead and put the airbag and vent in just to make me feel better about progress. Hopefully I can wrap it all up tomorrow then start on the pillar trim.
