Yea, I took out the faux grills with a dremmel as well. I bought the coastal metals grills to put over them though. They have a whole kit that will mount the grill over the area. Fitment is great and all the screws were included. Hmm, don't have a really good photo, but here's a front pic. Brandon
Wouldn't it be better (aerodynamically) to do it anyways since it's just a fake scoop that's actually blocking air flow? I rather have that air go somewhere.

I'm no expert with this, but I would think that if you open those fake vents up and have no specific purpose in mind (like brake cooling ducts or for intake air), it would just force the air to go someplace where it does no good for no reason. With them intact, at least the air goes around the car instead of through it.

If you're just scooping air, I would imagine that's a whole lot less aerodynamic than letting it flow through. A good analogy would be if you were to stick out a tennis racket while driving. If you had a cover on it so air couldn't flow through it, it would be like a wall vs. w/o a cover where air flows through it.
So even if I were to open up that fake vent and not have it directed to any certain spots, at least the air can escape and flow through the car rather than have air just hit up against the bumper for nothing.
