With the left side vent opened, some air will be directed to the engine bay regarless of special directing.

i had the aem cai on both of my s2000s, and BOTH of them had the side ducts cut all the way open. they've both been my daily drivers, and both of them were driven through rain weekly (just about). i've been through some BAD storms, and didn't EVER have any problems.

i'm actually VERY SKILLED with a knife so basterds like me who likes to improvise use things like knives. and heating up the knife makes a good clean smooth cut.

Anyone do this on an '04 or '05? Pics of it done on the new oem bumper would be helpful. Would it improve anything in reality?

just depends on which side the sir would flow. since there is a rubber thing. would the air go to the middle of the car or the wheel wells
