Tomorrow I'll post it up..... Haven't had the time to capture the necessary photos.

Sorry for the delay
Can you say a price range for these parts, and are they common pieces to find?

Looks like the mini cooper I saw yesterday, with the diffuser. Kind of looks cheap, sorry, just being honest, your car was much cleaner without it.

The whole project cost under 20 dollars if you have the right tools already

No worries...

When you own the S long enough you reach a point where being a little different from the next S takes over any clean concerns

DIY Instructions

Items needed

-Half inch Particle Board 2 feet x 2 feet est..

-Jigsaw... can be had for 19 bux at Walmart

-Any sort of sander..

-Any vice clamps for holding the board while cutting (99 cents or so for the cheapies)

-Primer + Satin Black Spray Paint

-Painters Tape

-8 black L brackets from any Acehardware and 12 3/4 inch screws that fit them + 12 nuts for the screws

------------------------------------------

To start you need to mask off the bottom portion of the Ap2 Rear bumper. Now I actually painted this part on my car almost 2 years ago so I did not have to do it again.

I took one of the fins off the car to snap some pictures of the shape. You'll notice a groove needs to be set in the middle for where the ap2 bumper has a little groove.

In order to make these pieces just use a piece of paper or cardboard, cut to shape, and then set under bumper to mark of where the groove needs to be cut.

Then simply sketch the shape on the particle board and use a jigsaw to cut them out. Once they are cut simple use any sander to smooth out the cuts. I used 150grit on my sander.

Once all the parts are cut out and sanded. Go back under the car and hold the pieces in place to mark off where you want to drill your holes for the L Brackets. I chose exceptionally thin drill holes + screws. I think the rest pretty much speaks for itself. Once you have your holes in the bumper + fins you can simple prime and paint the pieces then attach them when your done. This process seals off any issues with water.

Anymore questions feel free to ask or PM me.

Whole process only takes a few hours

Here's some pics that help show the fin off the car + the underside.

Do you by chance have any sort of outline for the fins showing the diamentions so I/we can trace it and cut?

I have an AP1, not sure if this will apply though...

I also wonder if it would be possible to remove the rear bumper, and drill from the top into the fin and apply a screw to hold them flush.

The only problem will drilling from the top will be removing them and keeping the screw hole intact if you wish to ever realign them. You can purchase black screws from Ace. Remember black hardware will only be noticeable in pics. If you go with all black nobodies going to be able to see them.

I haven't the slightest clue on the bottom of an Ap1 bumper. Not sure what that looks like underneath.

I do not have a digital outline at this time. Only the hand drawn sketches that were then cut out for testing. It's really up to the maker how they would like them to look.

It is similar to yours, its pretty flush so I don't think there would be an issue.. If you have a template it would be easier for me to make one and see how it would be on an AP1
