yeah, i picked the car up last week, being i got a cheap price there was no thorough body work done, just a quick sand and paint. so, the gap near the front was not fixed (but i figured to use the crap window seal as an apron to cover up the edging/gap). i spent an hour adjusting the brackets as the painter/installer left the right side rear high, however i only got it down to being maybe just 3/8" higher, not really noticeable unless you look closely...
but, with the installer at the body shop leaving the right side high, when the owner put the unused seals in the trunk, the lid chipped the right rear edge of the hardtop (yes i had the bump stops in). so, i'm awaiting the chip to be fixed at the moment. i should be picking the car up again tomorrow. been a hectic week as my wife's car is at another body place because she was rear ended on saturday, if i pick the car up tomorrow (friday) i should have pics up by the weekend...

of course your affiliation with spyder562 is well known (as he employs you for the vis installs), and so is your affection for the vis brand (spyder sells vis tops), that has been established. it is not required for you to post another six times saying the same stuff. we all know your opinion and i'll agree with you that VIS TOPS FIT BETTER.
regarding pricing however, spyder was selling vis frp hardtops with hardware with shipping for $1400 (at the time of my purchase) and yes spyder is the cheapest selling vis vender out there. excellent that he offers the paint option, an advantage that he alone possesses. however, if we break down the pricing, as shown on his for sale thread, it will cost $1961 (frp hardtop/hardware/shipping/paint).

now simply going on cost (i don't pay the same prices for paint/bodywork, for me it'll be cost of paint + $100), my cost for frp hardtop/hardware/shipped was $1150 and my bodywork/paint will at most cost $300 (not the regular retail pricing). that is at the maximum cost ceiling of $1450, happens to be more than $500 under next vender's price, not $100.
some say "you get what you pay for" and others say, "a fool and his money are soon parted." neither are absolute truthes, the determining factor will be the purchaser. you can pay an additional $800 and be good to go or you can coordinate bodywork/paint/downtime yourself and achieve similar results for a lot less money (i can come under $800 difference real easy), depends upon personal priorities. this top works fine for me but it's abominable/atrocious for you, that's fine, that's your opinion but that's not my opinion.
there's been nothing recent posted by the vis hardtoppers regarding thorough installs/reviews, just far away end item shots. it'd be good if the vis owners could get their installs posted up to help educate the s2k community on hardtop purchases. i'd personally like to see what hardware kits come with different hardtops and comparison pictures of end/finished installs. from there we could assess if the price difference is really worth the fitment difference. we could also gauge the fitment by having a poll or something (mugen/vis/cwings---great/good/bad), it'd yield interesting results of the truthes of the hardtop world...

cwings top i bought awhile back. the fit was terrible, the right side sat high, the front would not seal, so driving over 40mph i would start getting windnoise from the front, going over 60mph i would get windnoise from the sides. there were a million little pinholes and ground off edges everywhere. i hope you were able to get yours worked out
