you would think with all the Honda guys out there SOMEONE would put the F22C and a F20C on engine dynos and get some flywheel HP ratings using the same system so we could have an accurate power output comparison between the two engines.

Wheel dynos show the AP2 8-10whp more than ap1 throughout the powerband.

AP2 is faster on the straight. AP1 may/may not be faster on the track. Overall it's a drivers race around most tracks but AP2 is faster on a straight. Ive ran with quite a few AP1s and have pulled on all of them (they were stock or just had an intake) but maybe it's cause mine is an MY07 like someone mentioned with an even more efficient ecu tuning.

Who cares which car was ahead of who, overall the AP1 was faster (proven by fastest lap time) despite having less hp, less torque, and lower gearing.

AP1 1 FTW

Still, id like to see a older AP1 (with ap1 suspension, 2.0, rims etc) VS a AP2 (with 2.2)..

I remember they did a JDM AP1 vs AP2 (both had 2.0L) and the AP2 came out ontop, so i guess you could deduce that the ap2 with 2.2l would be faster than a ap1 with 2.0?

Ah. The infamous AP1 vs AP2 battle. I love it

Ap1 owners will say AP1 owns (its true ) as opposed to an Ap2 owner will say Ap2 owns.

By looking at the video, It seems that the Ap1 has a better entering cornering speed as opposed to an Ap2 with a better exiting speed. But mind that the fastest track time between the AP1 and AP2 was the AP1, therefore making it "The faster car on the track". I believe that If Juichi didn't make the mistake of putting in 2nd gear as opposed to Tsuchiya dropping it in 1st, the outcome of this battle would be some what very very even, or if not different. Because of this mistake, you can see the sudden drop in MPH in the AP1 as opposed to Tsuchiya's gain in speed by going with a lower gear. Just a thought.

corner exit accelerationwise, ap2 pulls strongly where as the ap1 is struggling to stay close.
