HKS Spec-L

Glad to not be the only one with the HKS SPec-L fauty ressonator pipe, HKS sent me another replacement, and it was ruined also in the day after i instaled it on a trackday...
I solve my problem replacing it, by the HKS SSM, and could not be more happier! LOVE it even more than the spec L, the sound between 1000 and 6000 it is OEM style, after that remind´s my Evasive 70mm, raspy till 9000k, and ZERO drone.

Vendor was able to take care of me in under two weeks. The new and redesigned mid-pipe with new resonator replaced the problematic section. Exhaust sounds fantastic. The only downside is that the weight difference between the two is noticeable. New unit is noticeably more heavy but, I'm guessing they used thicker materials in the new resonator which I am fine with.
Now, added weight aside the new SpecL exhaust uses crush type gaskets so that eliminates pretty much ALL/ANY leaks. I highly recommend this version over the original version if you are running any sort of boost as it seals amazing compared to the original HKS exhaust where your gaskets would take a beating from the heat and you'd have tiny leaks here and there.
Weight benefits aside, this SpecL is the new exhaust to use especially if you are Supercharged.

Gentlemen,
I am having the same issue with this exhaust as Trackfreaks. My mid section is making an AWFUL tini noise between 2-3k rpm and then 4.5rpm-6krpm. It is almost unbearable and is exactly as Trackfreaks described.
The quality is amazing and exhaust is incredibly light but, something is seriously wrong with that mid section/resonator. I am very very sad as I dropped all this $ on an exhaust that sounds just as bad as my old HKS that had a huge hole in the same center piece that Trackfreaks needed to replace.
I will be reachig out to the vendor in a few minutes and I hope they will help and get this resolved in a timely manner. I will keep everyone posted on the progress. I choose to not disclose the name of the vendor at this give time.
Many Thanks,
Dmitriy

Two people.
1) Get back under the car
2) Loosen everything after the resonator, it’s after cat/str8 pipe
3) Have the 2nd person hold the tips in preferred place as you tighten everything
You could do the same by just loosening connections behind mufflers, however, it looks so skued in your photo that I’m more worried about your hangers and further forward connections.
