How to Embarrass a Ferrari in Your S2000
If you think they are embarrassed, you should have seen this minivan I passed this morning. They actually slowed down for a school zone and I went blowing by them at least 3x their speed.
Most of us are guilty of aggressive driving or bad decisions at some point, but it's kind of silly to say you embarrass someone when they are simply out for a cruise or unwilling to take the same risks you are. It's really nothing to brag about and does reflect negatively on the S2000 community. Be careful what you put out on youtube, I've seen it come back to bite a few people. Those roads do look like fun but be safe.

Glad you enjoyed the twisty roads. I only have a few here in my area that I can enjoy and most of the time there are two many cars to around to really push it through the corners. Not that I drive recklessly, but lets admit, when the S sees a curve, she gets hungry.
I did watch your first two vids though. It seemed you passed them by with ease...but was that because they weren't pushing their vehicles or because they were just enjoying a cruise? I didn't see you do anything wrong (safety aside or course, you can never tell what will be around a corner), but I also didn't see anything 'embarrassing.' I would really have liked to see the videos showing the exotics trying to catch up with you or even leading you through the twisties. I think the major problem is with your thread title as it is, in all fairness, a very inaccurate statement. Other than that, kewl vids!

But maybe scroll back a few pages to where I explain that they weren't just out for a cruise and were playing with us as well.
Also, I am sure there are far worse things on the S2000 community and far worse people that cast that negative reflection. For example: S2kadrenaline saying "This is the gayest f@#king video I have ever seen." In my humble opinion, I believe that to reflect worse on the character of those on S2Ki than a video of (slightly) reckless driving. Don't you agree?
However at the same time I'm glad that you could admit that you (along with most of the flamers on here) are guilty of aggressive driving and having a little fun with their S rather than buying it just to look cool on a slammed, big-rimmed, shittily driven little S.
The roads are very fun, and I've driven with the OP enough times to know he is -very- safe when he drives. I've driven with people who drive much slower and don't pass people and I've been scared shitless that we were going to crash. (And we -have- on occasion) The OP only drives the way you see in the video on roads that he has driven for "2 Decades" (as he put it), and never pushes the car past what it can actually do.
However,
Perhaps the title of the video was offensive to some, but this is a gallery forum and I'd love it if the rest of the posters could push their feelings of inadequacy, jealousy, unnecessary rage, or any other feeling aside and appreciate the posts from the OP for what they are. A video, and some lovely photos of a yellow S in the redwoods.Glad you enjoyed the twisty roads. I was so bummed that I missed it, he was trying -so- hard to catch up, it would have been good footage.
I actually agree with you when you say that the people who don't move over when they're clearly going much slower than you can are annoying.
But, I also found the video to be rather immature. I mean maybe the person really was "playing" with you, but that's a problem in itself. You shouldn't be playing on public roads anyway. I used to go out on mountain roads for cruises too and learned that the hard way. I got lucky and didn't get hurt and perhaps more importantly didn't hurt anyone else. It could have just been the language, I don't think you should really say the Ferrari owner has "small balls", because if anything, maybe he just has a bigger brain or realizes that he could be putting other people's lives in danger if he were to push it.
Every driver has a limit, maybe yours is higher than his and maybe you're an even better driver than he is. But there's definitely nothing embarrassing about it, and really that's probably a good thing that he doesn't push himself. What if one day the guy really were embarrassed and you were a vastly superior driver. Then when he was trying to catch up to you he might really get into an accident and hurt himself.
I'm sorry but this video just came off as immature. Considering S2000's are already pretty ricer because of all of the people driving around with carbon fiber bits and huge exhausts, and by driving I mean driving like complete morons, I can see why everyone is complaining. Actually there's not that much wrong with the video footage itself, if you have a friendly little battle that might turn out okay, except that I don't really see the point because you shouldn't be pushing 10/10 on public roads, so it's kind of pointless. I think the only real problem people have is that you're saying that you "embarrassed" the Ferrari and that the owner has small balls, which isn't friendly at all.
I'm glad you enjoy yourself on nice windy roads as opposed to speeding around on the freeway though. Might I suggest you try autocross or HPDE/PDX? Personally I've found my mountain roads to actually be quite boring after getting the S2000. I just feel like the S2000 is too fast and it's actually not fun anymore unless I can really push it without any worries.

Lol. I don't have a problem with your opinion. Too bad you have a problem with mine. Carry on with you bad self...

I guess we are different because I will NEVER become bored of driving mountain roads in my S2000. IMO the S2000 is the perfect speed, and all my modifications have been mainly intended to hear the beast roar, more so than to make it faster.
