i have to have one of these.
*Ahem* My old car:

And the day I sold her *sniffle..*

God I miss that car.. everyday I wish I wouldnt have sold it. Yes, the rotary has some issues, but IMO the Rx-7 is one of the best cars ever made.

Sweet sounding RX7. One of my fav rides. Is the car nose heavy with the LS1 engine in it.

No. LS1 swapped FD's keep their 50/50 weight distribution so the handling is not affected.

This was my problem too. I couldn't find an RX7 with a good turbo in Ga. to say my life. And Mazda Medics here said the same. At the time, the turbos were the worst in the States. Best to get the upgrades from Japan. circa 1999. Rx7 are still one of my fav cars and with the intro of the LS1 engine; the possibilities...
I'm with Version, the FD3S is a perfectly balanced platform with a lot of tunability. The LS V8's make it just that much better. Give me an RE Amemiya wide body FD with LS7 and lots of wheel and tire, I'm a very happy camper!!

The rotary motor is a good motor. It just requires a lot of attention and special prevantative care. Something 95% of the population doesn't know how to do. That's why they get the bad reputation. It has been a well known fact that you never take your RX7 into a dealership. Dealers were just never properly trained with FD's and the only people that take them to the dealers are the same ones that don't take care of the motor properly. There are plenty of owners that have a considerable amount of miles (200k+) on their N/A RX7's that are still on the original motor.
