labor was $5000 for the molds built for that bumper.

Do the seam lines coming off the front quarter panels traveling toward the nose line up perfectly with those on J's Bumper? In other words. do all the lines mate properly from the OEM portion of the car to J's style bumper?

Wow, never thought I'd be disagreeing with you but I actually dislike that full fake j's bumper. I can't say exactly why, but for one, the front air ducts look huge compared to the real thing. For those that don't know, the real j's half spoiler has two protrusions that insert into the cut out fake air ducts from the stock bumper. The protrusions have some curvature that in turn direct air to the brakes for cooling. This fake peice doesn't seem like it works the same way. Please let me know if I'm wrong here.

On another note, the line going across the front bumper with the real j's half lip doesn't really bother me. With a good tape job, the line can look very descreet. This is especially true if you add the front canards.

 

You should fire the photographer, the sun is behind the car so none of the detail can be seen, I know you have put many dollars and effort into this and it looks great but I will wait until there is a J's lip in Urethane - I would rather replace just a damaged lip than the whole bumper!

 

If you replace the damaged lip, wouldnt it be the same price anyways?
remember you still have use of your stock bumper if you wanted to switch.

urethane is very easy to repair at your local body shop

I see what nzaizar is saying. If you scrape up or rip up only the bottom half of the bumper cover, you can easily just as well purchase another one.

Take off the damaged piece, get the new one in and send it off to the body shop. Have them paint it. Once painted, pick it up for mounting.

Done. No down time on the car, no need to take off full cover...etc. I'm sure the half lip in eurathane would reflect a lower cost than the full cover. Some damages don't make sense to try to repair, just replacement makes more sense.

BTW, for the half lip users (if it were to be made in eurathane) would still have to deal with the "line".

If I hadn't gotten the original J's lip, I'd be all over this.
