Trimmed it all out today and installed the intake! Looks great IMO. I miss the sound of my Fujita Intake though!'

Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of the AUT cooling plate? by having the Comptech intake?

Yeah it is just a waste of money for sure! That cooling plate is made to work with an open air filter type of intake. Does not work for that intake so is just bling.

lol do you guys actually think a cooling plate makes a difference power wise. It directs air into the engine bay. Thus that is where the intake is getting it's air. You don't think the icebox is like making air for it do ya!

Your wrong though. The cooling plate direct air to a filter not just into the engine bay. Your filter gets it air from the fender hole not the cooling plate thus your AUT cooling plate is just bling on your car. The AUT matted up with the K&N FIPK or oem intake as it is made for is where it is usefull to get more cooler air to the filter. What you have done is combined two different things that were not meant to work together and do not work together.

The filter gets it's air from where ever it can. You think it chooses where it wants air from? I see what your trying to say, but it's a cooling plate. They don't do much anyway. The more air in the bay the marrier!

Well yes the K&N really does get air from the cooling plate. The heat shiel around it seals it against the hood and the opening is in the front where the cooling plate directs air so that does actually directly flow to the air filter where as the CT intake is blocked off from this air and gets the cooler air from the fender hole.
But yeah obviously it does not directly choose where the air it wants to get comes from but the AUT cooling plate makes the outcome forced upon it a good bit more haha.

Yeah I think the K&N is a good design. I also thought the PWJDM was though and on the butt dyno I never felt a difference. From all the intakes I have had, I have really yet to feel a difference. This one included. On the other hand, with the Fujita I feel like the car gained a little more than all the others, but I contribute that to the sound it makes when the 2.2L is in VTEC.

Hey All
When you installed your AUT cooling plate did you remove any of the foam rubber that sits in front of the radiator?
I think it might increase air flow, but I fear the air would be carring heat with it. Any comments before I install my cooling plate would be helpfull.
PS it is only 30 degrees out today and we are looking at a few inches of snow.
