Wink Let's Tilt-Shift!

LET'S HAVE SOME FUN!!!!!!!!!!!

Tilt-shift photography is a method of photography that utilizes tilt-shift lenses to overcome the restrictions of depth of field and perspective that normal lenses provide. A tilt-shift lens allows for the rotation of lens against the image plane (tilt), as well as the movement of lens along the image plane (shift). By applying Scheimpflug principle, tilt-shift photography is able to obtain a very shallow depth of field using tilt and a large aperture.

Tilt-shift miniature faking is one of the most popular applications of tilt-shift photography. This is a process in which a photographer manipulates the angle of a tilt-shift lens to distort the focus of a scene to be captured by the camera, thereby creating an illusionary depth of field usually produced by macro lenses. This makes the particular scene appear smaller than it truly is.

Due to the popularity of tilt-shift miniature faking, it is often misunderstood to be synonymous with the tilt-shift photography method itself. In reality, there are other effects that can be achieved from this method. For instance, tilt-shifting is widely used to capture architectural scenes because of its unique ability to remove perspective in photos and manipulate the plane of focus.

here is a kick ass example:

and a good example of doing it with video:

Ok so.... if you can do traditional tilt-shift photography, AWESOME..lets see some really cool shots of S2ks. If you want to "fake it" with photoshop, cool too. I am toying around with the technique and wanted to create a cool thread about it.

There are many tutorials out there for creatign this with photoshop or other pic-manip program

I'll start and these are not really any good because I am having trouble finding good high perspective images of S2ks:

S2ks only in this thread please...we can all find countless examples of stills and videos on google and you tube....LOL

If this is an old idea or lame, forgive me...I am bored at work today

LETS SEE THEM!!!!!

still fighting with getting the look down:

Armos, depending on what version of photoshop you have, you have to do a little image masking and use the reflective gradient tool and then tweak the Lens Blur tool to get the initial effect and then mess with curves, contrast, and level to give it more of a toy look.

Google Tilt-Shift photoshop tutorial and should ge a few good lessons on doing it using old and newer version of photoshop etc
