If I had $400,000 to blow on a car, the LFA wouldn't even cross my mind. So many better cars in that price range...

Edit:

Since motor trend wanted a drag race, they should have raced this against a Corvette ZR1... With its 1/4 mile time at 11.2sec (Motor trend figure) it would RAPE an LFA.

10 years to produce a car that gets raped by a corvette and is $290,000 more... Good Job Toyota
I guess the major difference is that being that both of us live in miami, garantee you can see 2 to 3 gtr's A DAY and slightly less for the zr1 but on the other hand, with the LF-A you have to submit an application just to own one OF ONLY 500 cars WORLDWIDE. Sine there are 190+ countries in the world, do the math and call me if you see a LF-A I'll drive wherever to go see it!

Stupid idiotic American magazines could only think of a straight line race with a $400,000 supercar versus an AWD sports coupe.

If they could only have it for a couple of hours and no street usage, they should've brought it to a race track like Buttonwillow or Willow Springs (since Motor Trend is SoCal based and that looks like Irwindale).

They probably would've had the same results racing the 458 Italia vs the GTR. So lame...

What did Toyota do with the LFA? They proved that they could build a supercar that's extremely over priced with technology you could get in a Ferrari. If I want a uber supercar I'll take a Zonda or the new Mclaren.

And to be honest technology isn't squat when it doesn't produce the numbers aside from a high price tag.

There are cars for less then half the cost of that car that generate as good or better numbers, and have a higher level of prestige.

Toyota would have made a statement to have produced that car and came in at or around the price of the ZR1 or a bit higher...honestly guys if you have 400k in your pocket is that really the first car you think of?

I can tell you I'd have a prancing horse in my garage and have money left in the bank

Its funny how the people on here who gawk at the LFA being so expensive couldnt even afford the GTR in the first place.

I'll tell you that IF i could afford any of these cars. I would buy the LFA because its essence is incredible in every way. The engineering behind it is amazing and bar none its a gorgeous and amazingly engineering car.

I agree with those who mentioned the cars target different markets. The GTR however is a point and shoot car allowing the driver to put the gas down and let the computer sort out the rest. Its been said by many GTR owners I have met.

I'll take the LFA with the same drive train layout of the S. I want something light, artistic, as well as something that I can drive and feel all my inputs as I take it round a track. You can get rid of the GTR for all I care. Nothing could interest me less than a fat, heavy car that makes bad drivers look good. Nothing could be less rewarding in my opinion.

You think that Lexus built the LF-A to compete in a drag race? If that's what they wanted, they could have built a 4,000 lb. car with 1,500 hp for less money than they spent building this car. You don't seem to understand the purpose of this car.
