hey! those taste pretty good. My father is a shrimper and every once in a while he'll catch them. but they aren't that cool looking as the one shown in the picture =\.

 

yeah most of the ones I have seen look like something out of a HR Giger painting.

My friends and I ate a big plate of these things while vacationing in Hong Kong. The restaurant stir-fried them with salt, pepper, garlic, and chili. The meat was very tough and not worth all the effort of breaking the hard shells.

In Chinese, mantis shrimp literally translates to "piss head shrimp."
