Mid 70's BMW 2002 restoration project...
Thought I'd share with you guys my "restoration" project of an old 2002. Someday when I have a garage, maybe I'll do something like this for real but for now it's all just for fun (and I needed some practice in Illustrator.) I'm not a BMW guy at all, so you'll have to excuse the artistic liberties as taken.
I'll be posting progress updates as she gets cleaned up and fixed along the way.
Enjoy.

Came upon this old 2002 last weekend. Not too sure about the year, looks to be around the mid 70's. It had been pretty neglected and abused, doesn't look like it's been used for a decade or more, unless you count the squirrels who have been using it to store acorns. I thank the passenger window being permanently stuck down for that. The tires on the 14" steelies are flat, headliner is sagging, and there's some rust on the body (which is strange for a California car, makes me wonder if it's originally from the East coast?)
The original baby blue paint is in pretty bad shape, and there's a little bit of front end damage to the passenger side. From what I can tell, there's no major frame damage though, and all the body panels line up well.
It's not much, but it's a start. First step- getting her cleaned up a little bit and rolling.

Got some air in the tires so I can finally see what the car looks like at its proper height. Blew all the leaves and some dust off the car, but during the test drive I think the passenger window dropped down even further.
Also, I tugged on the passenger door handle and something popped off and is now rattling around in the door. One more thing to fix I guess.
