I used dental floss to remove the emblems and then wd-40 with a lot of elbow grease(blisters to prove it). A cleaner, wax and then polish to make everything nice. It took about 1 hour.

I used the dental floss in concert with a heat gun on mine. Then I used Prep-sol to remove the excess tape/glue. Preps is body shop product that they use to well... prep a body before they paint. Totally non- abrasive to paint, plastic or glass. Give it a shot, very little elbow involved in the process.
